Part 4
Time to start the assembly, I'll start with the trigger housing. I pulled a safety button, detent and spring from a spare trigger guard I had. I'll be using the new lightweight trigger spring from the MCarbo kit. The screws came with the DIP trigger. They include the trigger pivot screw, trigger limit screw, safety detent spring screw and the overtravel screw. The DIP trigger has a pre-travel screw already installed.

First goes the safety
Then the over travel adjusting screw
Then the two trigger screws along with the trigger spring. I'll have to adjust the take up and over travel once the gun is put together
Then I install the barrel into the receiver. The Cerakote made the fit too tight, so some 220 grit sandpaper wrapped around a pencil and some trial and error got us a fit that is as tight as any factory installation.
I use tape to protect the finish while driving in the pin
next comes the magazine band
Then we install the bolt along with the new recoil spring and guide
Then our assembled action goes in....
Looking pretty good!
Before buttoning everything up, I needed to test the trigger pull and adjust the take up and over-travel screws. I inserted a drywall anchor into the chamber and measured the trigger pull three times, we got around 5 pounds each time....a little disappointing considering the promises made by MCarbo...
Finished!
Even though this wasn't a restoration per se, I thought some before and after shots were warranted

And the Tincanbandit Super Deluxe Edition
