With both of the gifts above, you will need to go through an FFL dealer. The best way might be to provide them with a picture of the item on Christmas and the name of the gun store where they can pick up their new toy.
Here are some gift ideas for the gun owner on your list.

Back in 1984 Egon Spengler told us that print was dead..... however many people still like their periodicals old school style. A subscription to Guns & Ammo is just $9 and they offer additional add on subscriptions for another $5

If your gun nut is not a member of the NRA, a gift membership would be a great gift. We have between 80 and 100 million gun owners in this country and less than 10 million belong to any gun rights organization. We need members and gun owners can benefit from the NRA in more than one way, but wait there is more! Join at Sportsman's Warehouse and you will also receive a $10 gift card. It is like two gifts in one!
The 1911 Smart Wrench from Real Avid is a great choice if your gun nut owns a 1911 pistol (and who doesn't?). They are just $10.

I have used these on my ideas list before, but they are so handy and easy to give, I will include them again. Gun Socks help protect the guns from dings, scratches and rust. Yo can buy them plain or monogrammed and individually or in a 3 or 6 pack. Walmart has a good selection and great pricing.
Here are some great Pro-Gun shirts available for under $15 with shipping.

Magpul introduced their Bi-Pod this year, they come in black or FDE and with 1913 Picatinney or M-LOK mounting options. Optics Planet has them for $99.99 to $103.99 each.
A great way to safely store pistols in your vault are these handgun hangers from Dean Safe, a two pack is just $14.95 and they are shipped for free!
While I normally don't list guns as gift ideas, simply because they are usually out of the price range for most gifts....these are different.
The Ruger LCP has been around for 10 years now and has proven itself reliable. The price on the original (they redesigned it in the LCP II) has been dropping lately. The day I posted this I saw them on sale for $189
The Ruger EC9S is selling for under $250 (I have seen them as low as $211) and is a great little pistol.
The pistol comes in a few different color schemes.

If your gun nut does not have an AR-15, what are you waiting for? You can pick up a stripped lower receiver like the one below from Anderson Manufacturing for as little as $40. Just before writing this post I missed a sale for $30. Buy them the lower and they will have no excuse to not pick up the rest of the components and build it "their way".
