Christmas Ideas for the gun nut

Black Friday has come and gone and the Christmas shopping season is well underway. If you are looking for gift ideas for the gun nut in your life or need some items to put on your list, read below.

If your gun nut is not a member of the National Rifle Association, they should be. Membership comes with Firearms theft insurance, death and dismemberment insurance, discounts to major retailers and their choice of monthly magazines. In addition the NRA supports many great charities and operates our National Firearms Museum.
You can buy them a gift membership here

If you are a regular visitor to this page you have no doubt seen my many posts containing "gun porn." One of my sources for good gun porn is our National Firearms Museum (www.nramuseum.org). The good folks there have published a book, chalk full of history, documentation and of course, great gun porn.
You can buy the book at the NRA store here:

There are other great books on firearms history available, two that I have my eye on include: Ruger and His Guns by R.L. Wilson and The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson by Jim Supica and Richard Nahas

Both can be found at book retailers and Amazon.com

Another great gift idea is a set of Hogue grips for their favorite handgun, Hogue makes both wood and their famous rubber grips made with their unique formula that produces a tacky grip surface that is comfortable to shoot. Visit their website here to see the selection.
A must have item for every gun owner is a cleaning kit, depending on their current supply of cleaning tools and caliber/type of guns they own, you can buy a starter set, components to complete their existing tools or a complete master kit that includes a long gun rack like this one from Outers:
Perhaps your gun nut is interested in reloading his own ammo? You could get them individual components or a complete kit like this one from RCBS:
You can buy the kit from Midway USA here

Of course if you cannot decide, a gift certificate from Midway USA is always a good choice Midway USA

Even if you do not have a Cabela's store nearby, most of their items are available online as well, buy the gift cards here

The NRA Store also offers gift cards here
