Part 4

Now it is time to reassemble the rifle. I dug out the scope & scope mount to install them.

I test fitted the rail, then used thread locker and snugged the screws down

Finished!

A before and after shot

All told it was an inexpensive project. This is another way to get firearms for cheap, look for projects that someone started and then gave up on.
I didn't bed the barrel channel like I had planned, but that can easily be done later.

On to the next project!

Interesting Firearm Photos XXXXII

This first one is from the early '90's. There was once an indoor shooting range at the Ala Moana Shopping Mall in Honolulu...I was there and have this same poster.

Looks like a scene from Police Academy 16

If you missed the first three posts, click on the links below

Part 1

Part 3

Now it is time to clean up the metal parts and get them blued

The magazine floor plate, I removed the poorly stamped numbers

I did the same here

Time to start thinning the trigger guard, I put lines at 1/8" in from the sides

Then I begin filing

There was some pitting hiding under the Parkerizing

I also removed the step at the front of the trigger guard

Here it is with a 1200 grit finish

And polished up, ready for the bluing tank

I had some work to do on the receiver.

And polished up ready to be blued

and the parts fresh from an oil soak after bluing

Time to start reassembling the rifle
